On 06.12. we had the great PhD defense of Matthias Mühlhauser under the supervision of Kai Phillip Schmidt. His thesis is entitled „Graph decomposition techniques for quantum spin systems with multi-spin interactions“. In particular, he developed hypergraph expansions for quantum lattice models containing multi-spin interactions like the toric code or fractonic systems.
